Reconstruction Underway at Stiv Naumov Dormitory – A Step Towards Energy Efficient Student Living

The transformation of state-owned student dormitories in North Macedonia continues with the commencement of reconstruction activities at the Stiv Naumov dormitory in Skopje. As the second facility to undergo modernization under the “Energy-Efficient Rehabilitation of Student Dormitories” project, Stiv Naumov is set to become a contemporary, eco-friendly living space for its students.

The reconstruction process began in September 2024 and focuses on creating a more sustainable and comfortable environment for students. The upgrades include improving the building’s structure, modernizing facilities, and integrating energy-efficient solutions. These changes aim to reduce energy consumption while enhancing the living standards of the students who call Stiv Naumov their home.

With an emphasis on sustainability, the project aligns with Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) standards, ensuring a significant reduction in the dormitory’s carbon footprint. Eco-friendly heating systems, better insulation, and upgraded infrastructure are just some of the measures that will make this dormitory a model of modern, green student housing.

The reconstruction is not just about improving the physical structure – it’s a commitment to enhancing the everyday experience of students. These upgrades will provide better living conditions, fostering a more supportive and inspiring environment for learning and personal growth.

The “Energy Efficient Rehabilitation of Student Dormitories in North Macedonia” project is an integral part of the country’s efforts to promote sustainability and improve the quality of life for students. With Stiv Naumov now joining Kuzman Josifovski Pitu in the reconstruction process, the initiative is steadily progressing toward its goal of transforming nine state-owned dormitories into modern, energy efficient spaces.
